Engineering
The Engineering Division strives to provide quality professional, technical and engineering support services that exceed the needs and expectations of our customers. Providing safe and efficient movement of traffic through the optimal use and maintenance of the most appropriate traffic control devices or equipment. The Division also provides: Right-of-Way permitting; review of storm water drainage improvements; engineering plan review; permitting; roadway inspection services, excavation permits; maintenance of traffic plan review; concurrency evaluation; impact fee evaluations; landfill permitting and inspections; floodplain analysis; design and project management services for intersection improvement; congestion management projects; and, review of subdivision plats and administration of improvements for the City of Apopka.
The Engineering Division also manages issues and information related to water drainage and traffic circulation. The City Engineering staff ensures that the design of new developments adhere to City, County and State engineering standards. Areas of review include: drainage calculations, traffic circulation studies, impact fee information, elevation surveys and flood plain management. Assistance in the resolution of drainage issues, traffic congestion and other engineering related challenges throughout the city are also provided by this staff.
