Planning Commission
In accordance with Chapter 163.3174 of the Florida Statutes, the City of Apopka is required to designate a “Local Planning Agency.” The Planning Commission, as the Local Planning Agency, prepares and makes recommendation to the City Council on the City’s Comprehensive Plan, land use and land use map amendments, development plans, and rezonings. Each action of the board, except for special exceptions and variances, is advisory to the city council, and the commission board may not in any manner obligate the City.
The Planning Commission is a seven (7) member board, that meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5:01 p.m. in the City of Apopka Council Chambers, 120 E. Main Street. Contact 407-703-1712 for meeting information.
