Project Status-Expected Completion Date:
Road open for traffic June 30, bike path open by the end of July

Project Update:
The Lester Road extension, from Vick Road to Rock Springs Road opened on Monday, June 30.

The extension of Lester Road includes a 2-lane road, with left-turn lanes at the intersection of Rock Springs Road, as well as Vick Road, plus a bike path, and new traffic signal located at Lester Road and Rock Springs Road.

While the road is open, the bike path is not. The City is expecting to take delivery of protective fencing for the path in the coming week, and installation will occur upon delivery. The bike path is slated to open for use by the end of the month.

Police ask that travelers observe the 35 MPH speed limit when commuting on Lester Road, and allow for additional travel time on Rock Springs Road to accommodate the new traffic signal.

Additional questions regarding the project may be addressed to Public Services, 407-703-1731.
