Automated collection is a technologically advanced system of solid waste collection. The system is called “automated” because a special truck, equipped with a mechanical/robotic arm, automatically lifts and empties the city provided trash containers called “carts”, without the driver having to leave the cab of the truck.
It is as simple as 1-2-3!
1. On your regularly scheduled trash or recyclables collection day, simply wheel your household trash or recyclables cart to the curb.
2. Place the cart so that the wheels are facing your house; and is 3 feet away from the curb. Make sure the cart is at least 5 feet from other objects such as parked vehicles, fire hydrants, or mailboxes.
3. Only trash or recyclables placed inside the cart will be picked up. Do not place items on top of the lid or at the sides of the cart. Place cart at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.
