Day Camp for Children Entering 1st grade through 5th Grade (Ages 5 to 11)
Summer is just around the corner and the City of Apopka Recreation Camp is gearing up for summer fun with a new and improved summer camp format! Fun, Fitness & Fiction summer day camp will be held at the Fran Carlton Center and Kit Land Nelson Park from June 11th through August 17th. This new twist on our traditional summer day camp will include weekly visits to the North West Recreation Center for fitness and sports activities, weekly field trips, special events & movies, and daily reading time. The goal is for children to have fun, stay fit, and get in a little summer reading as well! Field trips will include: Gatorland, roller skating, swimming, Bounce U, Mascot Games, Orlando Science Center, Central Florida Zoo and the Orlando Shakespeare Theater! Weekly special events will include: Cook-outs, Ice Cream Social, waterslide days, visits from police & fire departments, Angry Birds day, camp olympics, touch-a-truck, talent show and an end of camp DJ party!
Camp is for children currently in grades K through 5th. Hours will be Monday through Friday 7:30 AM until 5:30 PM. There will be no camp on July 4th in observance of Independence Day. The new lower rate is $100 per week for City of Apopka Residents and $142.50 per week for Non-City residents; this is a 15% discount from last summer’s rates! Discounts are available for multiple children and City of Apopka employees. There is a $10 non-refundable application fee per family and each child will require a camp Tee shirt for field trips at a cost of $10 each. Space is limited – so sign up early to avoid missing out on this fun summer experience!
Camp registration will begin on April 30, 2012. To register Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., please visit our office located at the Northwest Recreation Complex, 3710 Jason Dwelley Parkway, Apopka, 32712. Participants may also register at the Fran Carlton Center between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.

After you have created your family profile, enroll and pay for your first and last week of camp.
