EDUCATION

Approximately 61% of the City population has a high school diploma, compared to 57% in the County and 59% in the State as a whole. The percentage of college graduates is higher than the State average.

Apopka area schools are part of the Orange County Public School (OCPS) system. OCPS is the 11th largest district in the nation and the 4th largest in Florida.

Apopka is located on the Interstate 4 Florida High Tech Corridor. Located along this corridor are several Universities (University of Central Florida, Rollins College and the University of South Florida), Community Colleges (Polk Community College, Valencia Community College, Seminole Community College and Daytona Beach Community College) as well as vocational training facilities. Within The City of Apopka is The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS), where students may earn a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Florida without having to relocate to Gainesville.
