The Apopka Fire Department and its personnel realize the importance of smoke detectors in saving the lives of victims of fire. Smoke detectors alert the occupants of a home that deadly smoke is present. This allows the victims to escape the residence before they are overcome by the smoke. Apopka firefighters have checked and installed hundreds of smoke detectors in homes within the municipal limits of Apopka.
