Chief's Message

manley3Robert M. Manley
Chief of Police
Apopka Police Department

Citizens,

I have been honored to be appointed by Mayor John Land to be the lead the Apopka Police Department as Police Chief. I have served this community for more than two decades as a police officer and am proud to call Apopka my home. I bring four main values to the leadership of this organization and hold them to be paramount to the success of our personnel in serving and protecting the citizens of Apopka.

Relationship with Our Community:
Even more than police employees, we are citizens and an integral part of this community.  We respect the rights of our citizens and believe they deserve to be treated with sensitivity and compassion, while recognizing their individual dignity.  Our commitment is to be caring and responsive to our citizens to make our community the best in Northwest Orange County.

Relationship with Each Other:
We believe that our employees sincerely strive to provide quality service to our citizens.  Each employee has a right to expect honest communications and fair treatment, as well as a responsibility to provide the same considerations to other employees of the department.  We are committed to a positive atmosphere of encouragement, trust and mutual support.  We respect and encourage individual responsibility and talent, yet we recognize that the department members have an obligation to participate in managing the organization.

Responsibility and Accountability:
Each of us has a personal responsibility to ensure the success of our organization.  We must be responsive and committed to solving problems and accomplishing our mission.  Without exception, each of us is accountable both to the community and to each other for our actions.

Future Commitment:
We have a responsibility to work in partnership with the community to anticipate, define, and meet the future needs of Apopka.  We encourage innovation and risk-taking, so that together we can help participate in creating a better future for all.

I look forward to working with the community to reduce the criminal element and provide a safe and livable environment. Please enjoy your online visit and do not hesitate to contact us with questions, concerns or comments.

Signed,
Chief Manley
