The Apopka Police Department has filed an application with the Department of Justice for Federal Justice Assistance Funding. The funding being requested is for a grant to purchase Biometric hardware and software to identify subjects in the field comparing their fingerprint to the Federal and State Automated Fingerprint identification Systems (AFIS), Less Lethal Equipment, K-9 Training Equipment and a Mobile Device Deleted Data Recovery System.
