This division is responsible for the investigation of major cases to include deaths, robberies and missing persons. CID also investigates other crimes against persons, property and the State. It consists of a commander, a sergeant and detectives.

The detectives from this division also participate in serving with the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, and the DEA High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force.
