9/11 Memorial Ceremony

8:30 AM at the Apopka Amphitheater
The City of Apopka, Apopka Fire Department, and Apopka Police Department will be hosting a ceremony to acknowledge the 20th Anniversary of September 11th. We will honor our fellow American civilians and fallen Firefighters and Law Enforcement Officers during this ceremony. Watch the live stream on YouTube.

9/11 Memorial Service

12 PM at Apopka City Hall
The Apopka Fire Department, Apopka Police Department, and the Apopka Christian Ministerial Alliance will be hosting a service on the steps of City Hall on September 11th to honor and remember those whose lives were lost. 

A Tribute to Heroes Concert (Ticketed Event)

Saturday, September 11, 2021
4 PM to 9 PM at the Apopka Amphitheater

This event will benefit The Central Florida Hope Center and the Armando Borjas Jr. Scholarship Foundation. 

An evening to honor our country, veterans, and first responder with a tribute to our heroes featuring LOCASH, Donny Lee, Randall Crawford, Adam Cunningham, Brandon Bing, and Country Airways. 

This family-friendly event includes:

General admission (lawn) tickets are $25 and covered seating is $35. There is a 20% discount given to veterans and first responders with the discount code: 911 used at checkout.

Join the Apopka Fire Department for a 5K (3.1 Miles) Run on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Apopka's Northwest Recreation Complex (3710 Jason Dwelley Parkway) with a Virtual Run option. 

Schedule of Events for Race Day

  • Registration: 6 AM to 6:30 AM
  • Opening Remarks: 6:45 AM
  • Race Begins: 7 AM
  • 9/11 Memorial Ceremony: 8:30 AM

This race will benefit the Armando Borjas Jr. Scholarship Foundation. Armando spent 14 years fighting fires and saving lives with the Apopka Fire Department. In 2011 Armando was diagnosed with stage IV esophageal cancer, which he battled for two years until his death at age 39. In an effort to keep Armando's memory alive, all donations and proceeds from this event will benefit the memorial scholarship fund. These funds help send local youth to Fire and EMT school and carry on Armando's legacy of public service.

Inaugural Food Truck Wars

October 2, 2021 from 12 PM to 7 PM
at the Apopka Amphitheater

There will be 30 gourmet food trucks throughout Florida competing in 4 categories with executive and celebrity judges. Event will include a beer garden, live music, kids area, and People's Choice Award.

Saturday Sounds Concert Series

The City is proud to host this free family-friendly concert series in 2021. 

  • Dates: Every Saturday October 2021 through May 2022
  • Time: 5 PM to 7 PM 
  • Location: Apopka Amphitheater (3710 Jason Dwelley Parkway, Apopka, FL 32712)

Picnic baskets and coolers are permitted. Limited vendors will be available. Please visit our Alert Center or Facebook page for weather updates.

Halloween in the Park Design

Want to become a vendor? The City of Apopka is now accepting vendor applications for the 2021 Halloween in the Park. Local businesses and organizations are invited to set up a Halloween themed booth and hand out individually wrapped candy or small toys and prizes to the children in attendance.
